Bored as hell, and looking for a distraction, my wandering eyes landed on a pretty purple in my ever growing polish collection. I grabbed the bottle and painted one nail, just to get a feel for the finished look. I noticed that it was part of the Justin Bieber line and decided this polish needed some new JBiebs music to along with it. Thirty seconds into the song, I was singing along like I had written the piece myself. It pains me to say it, but I'm hooked.

Once the appeal of the new single wore off, I started playing around with some water colours and marbling and came up with this mess...

I never said I was a pro !

Once I cleaned it up it didn't look totally horrible though....right?  :S

Okay, so I don't quite remember if I've mentioned this before, but I have two of the best jobs ever. Yes, that's correct; two. And they really are the best in two completely different ways.
Since last summer I've been working as an intern to the Human Resources & Health and Safety Departments at the company my dad runs. Not only do I get to call myself an 'intern' but I also get the luxury of taking an extra long lunch. The downside to this job? I'm constantly running around from one side of the plant to the next! Which means heels, are not an option.
Speaking of shoes, I've been working for Aldo Groupe for almost a year now (May 2nd will be my anniversary!). After having a 50% off discount for exactly 11 months, makes buying regular priced shoes difficult to say the least. Not that it's stopped me from splurging on a few Steve Madden platforms and Jessica Simpson heels. I think it's safe to say I'm a bona fide shoe addict. Watch out Carrie Bradshaw.  ;)

One of my favourite TV shows to watch is Ellen, with host Ellen Degeneres. She's fresh, funny, and relatable. And in this day and age, that's hard to find in a TV personality. 

No offence to the Kardashian's, but when I go for coffee with my girls, I don't usually sport $6,000 Giuseppe Zanotti heels and a six hour make-up routine...

So anyways, one episode that aired back in 2011 had the adorabale Kristen Bell as a guest star. A surprising fact about Bell; she is uncontrollable and undeniably in LOVE with sloths.  

Who wouldn't be obsessed with little guy?!

As a little treat for Ellen, Kristen brought a video clip from her last birthday, courtesy of actor boyfriend Dax Shepard.  Little warning: this video is hilarious. Take a look!

kiss kiss bang bang

Being the unbelievably productive gal that I am, I took it upon myself to break from studying, and fix up my nails. I tried out this new OPI polish called Shorts Story (how cute is that!?). 

It's honestly the perfect mixture of a pretty pink and feisty fuchsia. Two coats of this lovely lacquer and one coat of Revlon No Chip Top Coat, made this a fab mani. Check out some quick pics below!

It came as no surprise to me that a day and a half later, I was scanning my collection of pretty paints for some kind of sparkle or bedazzle to add. After seeing various blogs and websites filled with water marble designs, I thought I'd give it a try.
What's the worst that could happen...?







The left hand ring finger turned out kind of cool, a throw back to some 60's floral prints.
Mixed with a cool mint, bright hot pink, and a light lilac colour pallet, 
the OPI Shorts Story really stands out.
