v-day

Valentine's Day.
Chocolates, and kisses. Couples walking hand in hand. Teddy Bears, and cheesy Hallmark cards.
(I would also like to point out the fact that my computer recognizes Hallmark as a part of its vocab and autocorrected my spelling….)
The cheesiest of all 'holidays'...
But is it really so bad?
Sure, some restaurants are busier than usual, and grocery shopping without seeing some heart-shaped dessert/food is next to impossible, but when it comes down to it, it really is just another Thursday in an otherwise typical month.
Now, I'm the kind of person that looks for any excuse to celebrate just about anything. Earlier this year, I even stooped to organizing a Break-Up Day for my friend, complete with a Break-Up kit and everything.
Take notes ladies, this one received some great reviews!

 Contents of The Break-Up Kit…

1. Movies
- Nothing that deals with love, crushes, breakups, boys, or anything that may have any relevance to their relationship. (Ex. If they were big into music, do NOT watch Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist… No matter how hilarious it may be.)
My pick..

2. Nail Polish! (obviously)
- In bright, happy, cheery hues

3. Snack Foods
- Popcorn, chips and dip/salsa

4. Books (not magazines)
- A bio of a star she likes is a good choice. Something about reading the extreme roller coaster ride of someone else and seeing how they turned it all around is powerful stuff.

5. Wine.
- Really any kind will do… only one bottle though, don't get the girl drunk.

Anyways, as I was saying, I like to celebrate things. (Not that I celebrated my friend's terribly painful break up, but you get what I'm saying, right?)
So when Valentine's Day popped up on my weekly calendar alerts,
my first thought wasn't, "F*@#, I'm single" or "Oh no, I don't have a date!"
No no, my first thought was, "Oh sh** do I have a good red polish for this week?"
Say what you want, I call it a commitment.
It turns out that yes, I do. I also found some great mani ideas online for this lovely occasion of love.
Embrace it ladies; it's not going anywhere.
And on that note, I've decided to host an Anti-V-Day celebration with a few of my single ladies this upcoming week. Nail posts and fresh mani ideas to come!

kisses and hugs! xo
